Coal

Waste and wastewater are formed as a result of some physical and chemical processes in the Mining Industry. Waste and wastewater generated as a result of physical and chemical processing of a wide variety of materials are very dangerous in terms of environmental pollution.

In the mining industry, underground mining or open pit mining is carried out. Waste and wastewater generated in these areas are stored in tanks above ground or in underground storage areas. In parallel with the increasing number of mines day by day, the amount of waste generated is also increasing. Therefore, heavy metal etc. It is very important to treat these waters, which have a high level of pollution, and to recycle them into the system.

Textile

The textile industry is a branch of industry that manufactures fabrics and other textile products using natural and synthetic fibers. The textile industry includes the preparation of natural and fabricated yarns, turning them into textile products such as fabrics, knitwear, carpets by weaving, knitting or other methods, and applying finishing processes such as dyeing, printing and finishing to yarns and fabrics.

The textile sector has a heterogeneous structure consisting of many sub-sectors. Synthetic fiber production in industry; natural and synthetic fiber preparation and yarn production; fabric weaving, knitting, non-woven fabric production and carpet manufacturing processes. In the textile industry, wet (wet) processes such as finishing, dyeing, printing and finishing processes and dry processes such as weaving, knitting, spinning, drying and fixing processes are used.

The wastewater generated in the textile industry generally varies considerably in terms of quantity and composition. The differences in operating processes and applied technologies, which are renewed day by day, are reflected in the composition of the wastewater.

In general, many pollution parameters such as COD, pH, BOI5, color and salinity show high values in these wastewaters, and every process applied in parallel with different technologies in the industry makes it impossible to treat the wastewater with a standard treatment method.

Health

There are centers providing services in many areas in the health sector. The main ones are; hospitals, clinics, laboratories, factories producing general health products. The wastewater generated in these centers is very dangerous for human and environmental health. Wastewaters can show very different characteristics from each other according to these facilities they are generated. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a treatment system in accordance with the facility where the wastewater is generated.

Energy

Some problems arise in the realization of the processes created in energy production facilities. These problems include water scarcity, wastes and wastewater. The wastes generated in fossil fuel, renewable energy or nuclear energy facilities are very important for the environment and human health.

Oil

In the oil refinery industry, crude oil is processed and converted into various petroleum products. Petroleum refinery involves a wide variety of physical separation and chemical reaction processes. Water in the oil refinery industry; It is used for removing crude oil salt, injecting water into lines to prevent corrosion, removing ammonium salts by dissolving, cooling equipment, generating steam and washing unit areas. The most important pollutant parameters originating from this industry are BOD5, COD, TOC, TCM, oil and grease, phenolic compounds, ammonium nitrogen, sulfur, total chromium and pH. It is very difficult and costly to treat wastewater from these industries with a standard conventional method.

Agriculture

People need food to live and clean fresh water to produce these foods. As a result of climate change on the one hand and increasing demand from human activities on the other, many regions, especially in the south, are struggling to find enough fresh water to meet their needs. It is very important to use water more effectively in agriculture. Various wastewaters are generated during the processing of the products obtained after harvest. The treatment and recovery of these waters will ensure the sustainability of the water in the most effective way.

Hotel/Restaurant and Laundry

Water is consumed in many areas in hotels, especially the water used in the kitchen and laundry. Purification and reuse of these waters thanks to the waste water treatment systems installed in the hotel provides many advantages. However, the oil, organic matter load and limited facility installation area in the wastewater from the hotels make the treatment of these waters difficult. Existing systems applied for the treatment of the resulting wastewater have both the need for a large installation area and the odor problem. In order to treat and reuse these wastewaters in the hotel, systems with a small installation area, odorless and effective treatment should be used.

slaughterhouses

Slaughterhouses are businesses that slaughter live animals and process meat products. Especially in Muslim countries, the density in these businesses is at the highest level during religious holidays. Plenty of water is used during the processing of livestock and meat products.

Wastewater generated after use is transferred to the discharge channels. There is a large amount of wool, feathers, fat, proteins, blood and meat fragments in the wastewater. These pollutants greatly increase the amount of COD in the wastewater.

Metal and Metal Coating Industry

The processing of metals is generally carried out in 4 stages. These can be listed as cleaning, preparation, coating and polishing. During these processes, the metals that have been physically and contentally completed are put into various cleaning baths to remove rust, oil, dust, etc. on them. unwanted elements are removed. The removed elements mix with the cleaning chemicals in the water and turn into wastewater. In addition to these, they are passed through stages containing water that will allow the coating material to be applied in the final coating process to penetrate the metals thoroughly. The water used in these stages also contains conditioning chemical materials, as in the cleaning processes. As a result, when these metals are ready for use and removed from the facility, they leave behind a wastewater containing a high percentage of pollutants.

Housing

With the increase in the human population, housing projects and residential areas have also increased in recent years. In the current system, wastewater generated after use in mass housing areas is discharged directly into the sewer system. Most of these waters are gray waters. It is very important for the sustainability of the water that these waters, which have a high recyclability potential, are returned to the system as utility water.

Military

Military operations, camps and training can be carried out in various regions. In some regions, the need for clean water is quite high due to environmental conditions. The need for clean water in these regions is provided by water tankers or water tanks installed. The transportation and storage of clean water is a costly and problematic process. The pollution rate in the fresh water resources in the environment changes according to the season and environmental conditions. This makes the direct availability of these resources insecure.
